8 weeks in Isolation, everyone is learning new skills and what have I learn’t? I will tell you shall I? How to mix the perfect Gin & Tonic for breakfast! A skill that had until now eluded me! So Sunday morning And 4 G &Ts later spaced out on the sofa watching some gardening programme I decided I could do it! (That was the Gin Talking)!
The gardener here is 77 years old and having to Isolate, so 8 weeks later my bush needed a trim and the weeds were taking over!
So I put on my best Jimmy Choo Working walkabout Mules and toddled off into the unknown! I was ready for work! Boiling hot sunshine!
Took me an hour to work out how to turn the hedge cutters on! My son kept 30 meters away, at a safe distance laughing his head off!
I wanted to sculpt a giraffe topiary tree! They made it look easy! I ended up with a “lockdown haircut”! I hacked away, it is empowering- I thought of my ex – the first cut is the deepest and all that – ha ha!
I gave it my best shot – and giving it a go is what its all about – isn’t it? Lockdown is actually empowering you get to try things that you would never do when sober!
Tomorrow I am thinking of re-felting the garage roof!
You know all things considered, that bloke (Jack) in The Shinning! Id say he actually coped really well better than a lot of us really!
