Alien Space Bats

A week ago I asked if we had woken up in an Alternate Universe, as from seemingly nowhere we are now living and surviving in the midst of a Global Pandemic.

I now know this to be true as Alien Space Bats have invaded our normal universe and altered the Space/Time Continuum or as Mr. Spock would say in ‘Star Trekkin’, “it’s life Jim, but not as we know it”.

Many people have postulated that the virus originated in bats sold at the markets in Wuhan, but if this were the case would the contagion have spread so rapidly and virulently across the world and have such a dramatic effect on the culture and economies of the so called advanced Western Civilisation? There has been such a drastic divergence to our life and everyday practices in the last few months that some form external interference must be the root cause, and Alien Space Bats are the only answer!

The concept of Alien Space Bats (ASB) was first introduced by Alison Brooks in 1999, who concluded that in alternate timelines the prospect of the Confederacy winning the Civil war or the successful German invasion of Britain in 1940 were still unlikely to occur, even with the introduction and help from Alien Space Bats. Nowadays ASB’s are used to provide a simple answer as to why a timeline has drastically changed in an Alternate History Narrative.

I fear today, we are in the presence of Alien Space Bats!
