For those who have never seen Chinese artist’s Cai Guo-Qiang pyrotechnic displays, they are truly breathtaking. Known throughout the world for his stunning gunpowder installations Cai was made the Director of Visual and Special Effects for the Beijing Olympic Games.
Whilst this gave him immense opportunity to expand his vision, much of his art’s beauty lies within his perception and reaction to the world on a smaller scale.
Sky Ladder, the Netflix documentary made in 2016, chronicles his dream of building his own ambitious project, The Sky Ladder and allows you to see a little of the artists mind and methods and of course the beauty of his art.
