Has anyone got any recommendations for reliable news sources? Recently I have had to stop watching the news on TV or reading the newspapers as everything is doom, gloom and sensationalism.
It’s not often that I feel sorry for a politician but poor old Matt Hancock, the health secretary, really has been up against it over the past few months. What disappoints me is that the main stream media seems perfectly comfortable in criticising and offering opinions on this crisis and seems to do that without any real worry about the consequences. I watch the news because I want to understand the situation and the facts, not for the presenter to try and boost their own career prospects by constantly attacking those they interview. It’s like “calm down Dave, this time last year you were on Newsround reporting on litter in a local park but now you are interviewing the health secretary in the midst of the worst pandemic in our lifetimes doesn’t make you Andrew Neil.”

Hi Billy
The news channel to watch is Aljazeera by all accounts. It is Qatar backed but I’m told it’s very good and manages to stay impartial. News currently depresses me so I don’t watch a lot but I will give Aljazeera a look at some stage. A friend works for them and they’re based on the 17th floor of The Shard.
